 Welcome to the September edition of the UK Publisher Newsletter! Inside you will find some great resources that can help rev up your commissions as we move into the end-of summer/back-to-school days. Read about LinkShare's new WordPress plug-in–the LinkShare RSS DealFeed–which offers a simple way to earn commissions from your WordPress blog. We have provided a quick reminder of how to create individual product links. Finally, check out our suggested advertisers in the publisher promotions section.



Easy Links
Product widgets are gaining popularity amongst Publishers who are looking for engaging Easy Linkscontent ads to place on their site and earn revenue. LinkShare now offers you a "set it and forget it" solution to display relevant product ads on your site.

Contextual Product Ads
Easy Links are contextual product ads that use data from an advertiser's LinkShare Merchandiser file. When you place the code for Easy Links on your website, our contextual technology will determine keywords that identify your page. We then query an Advertisers Merchandiser file and display products relevant to those keywords and the page.

LinkShare offers 8 standard IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) sizes for Easy Links so you have the right fit for your page. In addition you can customize the colors of the Easy Link to match the design of your site.

With Easy Links, LinkShare makes it simple for you to promote the right Advertiser products on your website. Instead of having to navigate through hundreds and sometimes thousands of product links, let Easy Links do the work for you. Simply copy and paste the Easy Link code onto your site and the LinkShare Easy Link will serve relevant product ads that match the content on the page.

Predicting Conversion
After Easy Links determines the right keywords for your site, we use our knowledge of an Advertiser's product links to serve the product ad that is most likely to convert to sale. This is accomplished by giving each product a score. The score is based on the performance of an Advertiser's product links in the LinkShare Network. Publishers no longer need to guess which products are most likely to convert. LinkShare Easy Links leverages the immense knowledge within the LinkShare Network to serve up the products that are most likely to convert.

Easy Links can be found as a new advertiser link type on the "Get Links" tab in the LinkShare Publisher Dashboard (for those advertisers that have Easy Links enabled).

LinkShare RSS DealFeed for WordPress
LinkShare has launched a new plug-in for WordPress. For those not familiar with WordPress, it is popular blogging software used on a wide range of websites. WordPress offers their users "plug-ins" that could add additional features to their site.

The LinkShare RSS DealFeed plug-in makes it easy for WordPress users to promote RSS feeds from advertisers they are partnered with. Users simply download the plug-in, enter their token and choose the Advertiser feed they would like to promote. Publishers will need to be partnered with an advertiser to display that advertiser's RSS feed content.

How do I create Individual Product links for an advertiser?

LinkBuilder
LinkBuilder allows you to deeplink to anywhere on a merchant site without the use of a datafeed.  It is as simple as copying the link from the merchant site and pasting it into LinkBuilder. To use LinkBuilder,
  1. Go to the merchant’s programme page
  2. Click on LinkBuilder in the left hand column.
  3. Browse the merchant’s website within your LinkShare account and generate a link by simply copying the image URL and the page URL into the respective fields.
  4. Click Generate Code - and the product link is ready to use, as a text or image link!
 Individual Product links
Merchants with product feeds offer an additional tool called Individual Product Links. With this tool, you don’t even need to browse the merchant’s website.
  1. Go to the Links area and click on the advertiser you would like to create the Individual Product link for.
  2. An option for Individual Products will appear if the advertiser offers the "Individual Product" link type.
  3. Select the products you would like to feature and click Get Link.
  4. Please allow up to two hours for the Individual Product link created to be updated into our database. Until it gets updated, the link will redirect to the advertiser’s homepage instead of the product page.
 Our product feeds: Merchandiser tool
The Merchandiser tool is designed for publishers that can support a database of product links that are updated on a daily basis. Examples of Publisher sites well-suited for LinkShare merchandiser include shopping sites, price comparison sites and product search engine sites.

LinkShare Merchandiser facilitates the distribution and updating of individual product links for publishers that require access to a complete and dynamic inventory of a merchant's products. Merchandiser allows you to integrate individual product links on your website without having to create links manually for each product that is carried by a merchant. 

To get access to Merchandiser:
  1. Get your token: Log in to your account, go to the LINKS section, and click on the Data Feeds tab. Click on the Get Token button.
  2. Get enabled for Merchandiser: Email us at merchandiser-uk@linkshare.com with your SID or login.
  3. We will email you with instructions on how to access the product feeds.
  4. For further help, you can always contact us at merchandiser-uk@linkshare.com.
 New tools for product links
Look out for Link Finder, which will be released in September and will allow you to search for individual product links across all merchants you work with!

Elemis
Elemis have a new commission structure to offer even more advantages for affiliates:
• New tiers offer 8% to 13% commision depending on the amount of sales generated. With more tiers it will be easier for you to reach the next tier!
• The cookie window has been increased from 30 to 120 days.
Goldsmiths
• If you made more than £25,000 in August, reach £30,000 in September to earn 2% commission bonus
• If you made between £15,000 and £25,000 in August, reach £25,000 in September to earn a £400 bonus
• If you made between £5,000 and £15,000 in August, reach £15,000 in September to earn a £200 bonus
• If you made less than £5,000 in August, simply increase sales revenue by 20% to win 1% commission bonus!
