Welcome to the September edition of the Publisher Newsletter! Inside you will find some great resources that can help you increase your commissions as we move into Q4 and the holiday season. First, please join LinkShare in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month during the month of October. We have put together a sampling of LinkShare's advertisers who donate to breast cancer research funds or are selling pink products so that you can put together your own campaign to help the cause. Then find out how LinkShare's proprietary tracking will stand up to the privacy settings on two new browsers- Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome. LinkShare Tracking Through Microsoft IE8 and Google Chrome
Recently we have been hearing a lot about two new web browsers – Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 8 and Google Chrome. With every new browser that comes out, user privacy becomes more front-and-center. LinkShare is pleased that Microsoft and Google are putting consumer privacy issues at center stage in the browser market through their latest product releases that help to protect consumers. As with any new browser, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 will have an impact on ecommerce and online marketing.

IE8 offers a new feature called "InPrivate ". InPrivate gives users more control over how their browser information is saved and shared. Find detailed information on IE8's privacy features here.

LinkShare Tracking does not rely on cookies to track Publisher referrals. We offer two methods – LS Trans and Web Services. With the LS Trans method, transaction information is sent via a secure and reliable patented batch process. With Web services, tracking transaction information is sent over a secure server-to-server transmission. In both methods there is direct communication between the Advertiser and LinkShare, and the web browser does not present an additional potential point of failure.

The susceptibility of cookies to browser behavior is nothing new. The industry has long recognized the risks of cookie deletion as a result of:

  • Browser privacy and security settings
  • Anti-Spyware programs
  • Anti-Virus programs
  • Users manually clearing their cookies

Sports Authority sells pink products that donate back to cancer research for those products sold in October.
Vera Bradley
The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer is committed to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by providing financial support for research and research-related projects.
White House/ Black Market
Up to $200,000 in net proceeds from The Give Hope Collection will be donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Program Details
You can find a lot of helpful information on each advertiser's Program Page. One area of particular interest might be the Program Details section.



In this case, Bliss World is presenting version 3.2 of their baseline public offer, which presents 8% commissions on all goods. They are also running a special offer, which raises the commissions to 10% on selected goods, specifically on Gift Sets.

It is important to remember that you will need to select any special or private offers in the Program Details box to receive those special commission rates.

When you click on the hyperlinked offer you can find the start and end date of this offer, the number of return days, and if the advertiser has set this offer to auto-renew when it has expired.
