Flex Links
We continue to see creative uses of Flex Links from our Advertisers!
Publishers can work together with Advertisers using Flex Links to create rich, interactive links containing video, Flash, and JavaScript. With Flex Links you can deploy more interactive and dynamic content, leading to higher rates of interaction and conversion to sale.
Advertisers and Publishers in the LinkShare Network are now using Flex Links to create product information Widgets using video and Flash. When an Advertiser makes Flex Links available as a link type within their program, Publishers can copy and paste them onto their site just like any other link. Here is a look at some of the uses our Advertisers have found in Flex Links:
Walmart.com partnered with ToldYa to offer a range of product category specific widgets.
An example is this Hannah Montana widget in which you can navigate through to find different products available:
Ice.com shows product videos as well as a consumer offer to save 20%:
Shutterfly offers Publishers an interactive sample photo book to entice their users!
James Allen created a rich media banner where the diamond rotates, showing off the elegance of the cut:
We're excited about the interest we've seen in Flex Links. If you have any questions on how you can put Flex Links to use, talk to your LinkShare Representative today!

New Publisher Training Web Seminars
LinkShare is now offering live Web seminar training courses free to all Publishers! We are currently providing Beginner level classes, and we will be expanding our listings to Intermediate and Advanced level training.
These courses will be held weekly on Fridays at 1pm Eastern. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all of our Publishers’ time constraints, but we will soon be posting recordings of these training sessions on the LinkShare website in the new LinkShare .EDU Publisher resource center.
Here is the course description for our first course in the Beginner series:
LinkShare Publisher Training 101–User Interface: Overview
In this live web seminar we will discuss all of the basics you need to know in order to optimize your partnership with LinkShare. One of our Publisher Support Representatives will guide you through the fundamentals of managing your LinkShare account using the new Publisher Dashboard. Topics for this seminar will include:
- Getting links from your approved advertisers
- Analyzing reports on your commissions
- Making the most of the messaging system
- Taking advantage of consumer and publisher promotions
- Other useful tips and tricks
Throughout the seminar the presenter will field live questions from the publisher audience via the WebEx Q+A function. Use this valuable time to speak directly with one of LinkShare’s qualified support representatives and gain insider information that you can’t get anywhere else!

Creating a New Marketing Channel
Marketing channels are used to manage multiple Web sites or marketing methods independently. Each marketing channel consists of separate Web site attributes, reports, and user permissions. You switch from one channel to another by clicking the drop-down arrow next to the channel name at the top of any page.
To create or edit a channel:
1. Go to the My Account section.
2. Click the Marketing Channels tab.
3. To create a new channel, click the New Channel button.
Or
3. To edit a current channel, click the Edit button across from the channel name.

Here you can see where to find the Marketing Channels tab, the New Channel button, and the Edit button:
Creating separate channels for you different Web sites is not only required by LinkShare, but will also help you track the success of each site separately in your reports. In addition, it will let you put your best face forward with the Advertisers you apply to–you should apply to Advertisers separately with each channel to show them the relevant content of the page where you will be posting their ads. This will help you get a better approval rate when applying to Advertisers.
