Creating and Extending a Mirror Baseline Offer

Prospecting is easier when you create a mirror baseline offer. A mirror baseline offer allows you to extend an invitation to publishers who are not yet in your program. This offer can be identical to your baseline offer (in commission and return days), but unlike the baseline, you can extend it to NEW publishers.

To Create a Mirror Baseline offer:

  1. Go to Program Offer Management in the Advertiser Interface
  2. Select “Create Program Level“
  3. Click the radio button for “All Goods” or “Selected Goods” depending on the structure of your baseline offer; then click “Next”
  4. Fill in the appropriate sections with the same exact criteria as your Baseline Offer with one exception. Please set the Program Level Type to Private instead of Public. This will allow you to extend this offer to your publishers; then click “Next.”
  5. Setup the Commission Type and Fees. Again please mirror this information with your Baseline Offer; then click “Next.”
  6. When you get to assign images, choose “Assign no particular images.” We recommend that you assign no particular images so that publishers in this offer have access to all banner images that you have to offer; then click “Next”
  7. Upload the Terms & Conditions for your program. Please make sure to review your Current Terms and make sure that everything is up to date. On this page you can also include HTML or Text in the Offer Description Text Box (top box). We recommend that all advertisers include HTML in this section as it is much more visually appealing. Once you have reviewed this information and verified that it is correct please click “Next.”
  8. Review offer details. Then click “Submit” to make the offer live.
  9. This offer will now be located under the “Calendar – View/Modify Terms” section of the interface.
To Extend a Mirror Baseline offer:
  1. Go into the Affiliate Management tool in the Advertiser Interface
  2. Click the “Advanced Search” link

    To Extend to a Single Affiliate:
    a. In the “Search for Individual Affiliate by” section, click the “SID” radio button and enter the affiliate’s SID number
    b. In the “Search only within uploaded list of SID's” click on the “New Affiliates” radio button

    To Extend to Multiple Affiliates:
    c. Create a .txt file with a list of the affiliate SID numbers
    d. Open Microsoft Notepad
    • Enter in an affiliate SID and hit return. Repeat for additional SIDs
    • The document will appear as a single column of SID numbers
    • Save to your desktop for easy access
    • Click on the browse button and search for the .txt file with the SID numbers
    • Click on the “New Affiliates” radio button
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the “Submit” radio button
  4. Click “Extend Offer” radio button, make sure the box next to the affiliate’s information is checked, and hit the “Next” button. If there are multiple affiliates in the search results please also check "Select all that matched search."
  5. Select which offer you would like to extend to the affiliate and hit the Submit button.
  6. Click on the “Confirm" button to complete the action
Other tips:
  • Customize your auto-reply email AND the subject line for the Mirror Baseline Offer before you extend the offer.
  • Emails sent to affiliates that are not in your program will only be emailed internally, to the affiliates LinkShare inbox.
