The A4U Awards in London, 2nd June 2009
It was that time of the year again where the UK Affiliate industry dons their posh frocks and penguin suits! The a4uawards 2009 were held this month in the impressive Hilton Park Lane. The UK team were very excited about the evening as LinkShare had an interest in 4 of the awards. LinkShare had been shortlisted for the Innovative Network of the Year award, our very own Darren Newmark was shortlisted for the Publisher Choice Award for Affiliate Manager of the Year, and 2 of our advertisers were shortlisted, Elemis for Best Use of Affiliate Marketing as part of an Integrated Campaign and Oasis for Best New Entrant in Affiliate Marketing, so the atmosphere was tense. |
At the reception it was nice to have a glass of Champagne whilst chatting to our guests and industry friends. The reception went on for about 40 minutes until we were all summoned to dinner. This year we had 2 tables and they were situated beside each other which was good for interaction and meant that everyone had a chance to network.
After dinner Matt Wood, founder of the organisers www.affiliates4u.com, kicked off the night with an introduction to the evening and then host and British comedian Jason Manford took to the stage. He was very funny with some good gags on the industry, pain and Manchester. All was good fun and then he led into the awards.

After all the awards the band came out and more drinking was to be had mixed up with dancing and networking until the late hours or should I say early hours of the morning!
Thanks to all of our guests for making it a great night.
Finally, I would like to congratulate all the winners, highly commended and non winning nominees. All very deserved but they better watch their backs next year! |
