Traditional Interface Retirement
12th August, 2011
The traditional LinkShare interface for Advertisers will be retired on 12th August, 2011. We are pleased to report that we are approaching 100% adoption and we have received some great feedback for future enhancements. You can provide us with suggestions and ideas at any time by selecting the feedback button on the main menu.

It Only Takes a Few Minutes!
Take the Affiliate Benchmarks Survey today and let your voice be heard when it comes to Performance Marketing issues and trends. The survey will close on 1st September.
Your LinkShare Account Users and Permissions
You can control what functions are available to your users of the LinkShare Advertiser Dashboard. For example, you may have an employee designated for reviewing and approving Publishers into your program but you want to restrict access to reports. That can easily be done in the Account section of the Advertiser Dashboard. Just select Account >> Users and Permissions and then find the user in question and select "Edit". Then just remove the check from the area that you don't want the user to see in the interface. Login now and check out the permission settings for your users.
California Affiliate Nexus Law Faqs
Many states across the country are passing Internet tax laws related to nexus (what constitutes a presence in a particular state). California is the latest state to pass such a law. These laws inspire a lot of questions many of which are not easily answered without clarification from the California tax authority. To help provide some basic information about the law and what it might mean to you we've posted some Frequently Asked Questions on the LinkShare blog. Check them out and learn more!

Trends in Affiliate Marketing and Consumer Spending
The small business guide to mobile affiliate marketing – Smarta 14.07.11
Whether you are in marketing, sales or product development, mobile is the new buzzword. It is a new communication and/or revenue channel for businesses in every sector. Liane Dietrich, UK managing director of LinkShare, explains why mobile holds exciting and profitable opportunities, and how to work out your mobile strategy.
Flaming June for online says BRC-KPMG Sales Monitor – Internet Retailing, 12.07.11
While store sales growth only edged forward by 1.5% during June, web and catalogue sales clocked up a healthy 11.5% increase on June 2010, according to the latest BRC-KPMG Sales Monitor. This is encouraging news for the ecommerce sector, following slightly slower year-on-year sales growth during April and May. Last year's June growth figure for online, mail and phone order sales was 17.3%.
Let's go 'social shopping' – BBC News 07.07.11
Offline retailers have long held that online shopping will never replace a visit to the shops because sitting at a computer clicking on links is just not as much fun as hanging out at the mall. But a quick glimpse at any high street with its rows of closed-down signs, pound shops and charity outlets suggest that consumers don't entirely agree. Now a new phenomenon – dubbed social shopping – threatens to incorporate the missing social element in online shopping and possibly destroy even more bricks and mortar stores.
Nine out of ten use mobiles for shopping – The Telegraph 07.07.11
UK consumers lead the world in mobile commerce, according to a new survey. More than nine out of ten Britons use their mobile phones to either research or make new purchases, new research indicates. The study by the Mobile Entertainment Forum indicated that 91 per cent of people in the UK had engaged in 'm-commerce'. This was more than any other country in the world, and above second-placed Brazil by 12 per cent.
How you can benefit from behavioural retargeting – The Marketing Lounge 06.07.11
With the emergence of behavioural retargeting and its reliance on impression cookies, how can this form of digital marketing improve performance for publishers? Without going into too much detail, behavioural retargeting (BRT) is a digital marketing method of recording when customers view products on a site but don’t transact. Those customers are then served advertising from that particular advertiser, while surfing the net, in the hopes of convincing them to return and complete a transaction. It is clear that unlike traditional affiliate marketing, BRT cannot refer new traffic to an advertiser. Rather, BRT is concerned with increasing the return conversion rate of traffic that the advertiser has already received.
