LinkShare
now offers you the capability to post a video, widget, flash, or any
other kind of clickable object using our new ad format, Flex Links. Flex
Links convert your links embedded in virtually any kind of object into
tracking links for your publishers. This allows the Web’s most
popular advertising content to serve not only as a great sales tool,
but also as an opportunity for publishers to provide valuable content
to their users.
Here are some examples of how LinkShare Advertisers have been using Flex Links:
• TigerDirect created a Flex Link widget that provides a video
overview on how to use their site. Within the actual Flex Link,
users can navigate products and search the TigerDirect site.
• NASCAR Superstore created several Flex Links that feature
their top product categories and consumer offers. Users can
navigate through several pages of products within the Flex
Link.
• Beatport, a digital music retailer, created their music player
as a LinkShare Flex Link. Their publishers can now add the
Beatport player right on their sites, thereby featuring the
most downloaded tracks for their visitors. |

Creating
Flex Links
To create a Flex Link, select “Flex Links – Video, Widgets & More
(BETA)” in the “Links/Merchandising” section of the
LinkShare Merchant Interface. Select “Create New Link” and
then enter the code and descriptive characteristics for your Flex Link.
Publishers will be able to copy the code for the Flex Link from their
user interface and place it on their website. Please contact a LinkShare
representative when working with third parties to build Flex Links. There
are no charges associated with using Flex Links.
The LSNTRACK Parameter
LSNTRACK is a new parameter that enables LinkShare to pass a landing
page URL to a publisher. It is a required parameter in Flex Links. You
must include [LSNTRACK=] before the landing page you’d like the
Flex Link to direct to. For example, if your landing page in a Flash
video is http://www.merchant.com/landingpage.html, the code would be
modified in a Flex Link to read [LSNTRACK=http://www.merchant.com/landingpage.html].
The LinkShare system will replace the value for the LSNTRACK parameter
with a linksynergy tracking link for the particular publisher that picks
up the link.
