Voucher code boom as a record 7m consumers look for discount deals – 08.12.11 The Telegraph
UK retailers set to offer 2,500 voucher codes this December in a bid to win customers. The number of discount vouchers and online codes issued by retailers has risen, with a year-on-year increase of 66pc.
Electronics and fashion retailers offer the highest number of discounts, followed by home and garden outlets and health and beauty shops. According to figures from Vouchercodes.co.uk, shoppers logged on more than 6.5million times to download a discount voucher or code over the last 12 months. Read more

Shoppers in the UK are believed to have spent an extraordinary £19million an hour over the internet today - the biggest online shopping day of the year. The total outlay is expected to be a remarkable £456million in just 24 hours, with sales peaking between 1pm and 2pm when office staff logged on during their lunch breaks.
