With Valentine's Day approaching, the focus for many consumers and retailers now is Valentine's Day. The verticals that benefit most from Valentine's Day are those retailers who specialize in Flowers, Jewelry, Gifts, and Food & Beverage. Since Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday in 2009, we should see a lift in sales on gifts of experience. This means Travel & Hotel retailers should benefit from weekend getaway plans as consumers try to spend extra quality time with their special someone.
