Part VIII: Building Dynamic Rich Media Served Product Links > Part IX

Dynamic Rich Media Lets You Update Product Information on Affiliates' Sites!

Currently, providing Individual Product links to your affiliates allows you to syndicate specific products to promote. The biggest challenge for you and affiliates is managing existing links when the product sells out, information changes, etc.

When you choose Dynamic Rich Media to serve product links, you can:

  • change the product image, information, link, or...
  • completely switch products to send users to new products
  • offer a combined text & image link, thereby allowing greater control over the context of the promotion
  • track all impressions reliably

The advantages are simple, yet profound. Dynamic Rich Media served product links allow you to fully control the products your affiliates are promoting. Most often retail merchants will use this feature to syndicate best selling, brand new, or "today's deal" product links and change them periodically.

The process for building product links is almost identical to building a banner link to an MLP.

The template is almost exactly the same as the link template 6 where a merchant or third party serves an image/banner for an MLP. The only difference is we're now adding text that will also be linked.

Here is a sample of what the link would look like:

Template 8: Product Links

To use this template:
  1. Replace [your_escaped_URL] (replace the brackets, too) with the escaped version of your product's Landing Page URL using the LinkShare URL Escape Tool.
  2. Change the alt tag text from "This is one great product" to your marketing message for this product. This is the text that appears when a user scrolls over the image.
  3. Change the src URL to the URL of your image. Use a full URL.
  4. Change the text "Brand X Widget - Yours now for only $19.99!" to your own text. This is the text that will be hyperlinked.
  5. Take your finished code and paste it into the "HTML Code - (no body or head tags )" section where you are creating this link.
