Director, Product Management (New York)

Summary Description:

The Director, Product Management is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with services, development, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. In support of the business case, the Director, Product Management will perform qualitative and quantitative research with existing customers and potential prospects. This includes on-going technology assessment within the context of the competitive landscape and analysis of product acceptance/usage. Based on market-driven feedback from customers and prospects, the Director, Product Management will create a product road map, and write clear business requirements for products. The Director, Product Management will work closely with product development to define the contents and delivery of a product release.  In addition, the Director, Product Management will perform sales, trend, and profitability analysis. As products come to market, the Director, Product Management will develop a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute. The Product Management job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

The Director, Product Management is expected to:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap working with Product Development
  • Manage the prioritization process with senior management
  • Run qualitative and quantitative market research and feedback programs
  • Deliver marketing requirements documentation with prioritized features and corresponding justification to product development
  • Work with Product Development on approving functional specs
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products when possible
  • Inform feature, schedule and cost tradeoffs as the product nears completion
  • Provide in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning
  • Develop pricing and packaging strategies
  • Work closely with the marcom team to develop sales tools and training
  • Develop and manage customer training/customer care programs
  • Provide subject matter expertise for product and company collateral
  • Report on product results, including: usage, costs, revenues and contribution.
  • Act as the internal and external champion of his or her product. This includes being the ‘one- stop-shop’ for information on the product, target market and product competitors.
  • Have proactive communication with senior management on the product, its performance and any major issues or changes in the market or competition.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years B2B product management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field
  • MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years managing and promoting high technology products, from development through launch and sales ramp up
  • Demonstrated success in product launches and end-to-end execution of product marketing strategies and lifecycle management
  • Prior experience at a web marketing/advertising/marketing services company
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently
  • Experience developing relationships with suppliers and co-marketing partners highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including experience having independently presented to the Senior Management level

Marketing Manager (New York)

Summary Description:

Reporting to the Director Marketing the Marketing Manager will support various marketing initiatives including those that support internal communications as well as customer-facing projects that support advertisers and publishers. This position is located in our New York City offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director of Marketing and various functional departments including sales and services teams to develop sales collateral, training materials, case studies, templates, newsletters and other core marketing deliverables.
  • Work with Director of Events on key marketing deliverables for corporate and industry events including agendas, presentations, signage, and logistics.
  • Update company intranet and submit ideas for continuous improvement and improved internal communications.
  • Contribute to content writing and to the redesign and evolution of www.linkshare.com by working closely with various departments as well as Creative Director and Production Manager.
  • Work with the extended marketing team on campaigns that generate lead opportunities for Client Development teams.
  • Help the extended marketing team quantify the results of various marketing initiatives by summarizing results and key findings on a regular basis.

Required Skills and Experience:

Candidate will have 5+ years experience in technology business to business marketing, preferably in the area of online marketing services. Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Excellent writing skills both for print and web.
  • Excellent PC skills, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing organizations and customers.
  • Experience in managing performance-based marketing programs a plus.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite a plus. HTML proficiency a plus.
